Assessment is (Fill in the Blank!)

In 2010, we looked at the importance of assessment for children. It turns out that assessment is a lot of things. In our favorite magazine Young Children, Kim Hughes and Dominic Gullo wrote that assessment is continuous, comprehensive, and integrative.

Over the next couple weeks we are going to look at how The Adventurous Child’s products and play structures will not only create fun and educational opportunities for your students, but will offer you innovative ways to assess them as well.

Until we meet again, you may want to think about what assessment is currently at your school or daycare center, and what you want it to be. Do those two things match?

We strive to create fun and informative content that will help young children learn and grow. However, it's important to keep in mind that all activities should be performed under the supervision of an adult. The Adventurous Child website is intended to serve as a reference and guidance for educational activities, and it is ultimately the responsibility of the parent, guardian, and/or educator to determine the appropriateness of the activity for their child’s age and maturity level. Thank you for your understanding and support!
