The outdoor Sensory Table with Removable Bins allows children to explore and discover, using touch, sight, hearing, smell, and yes sometimes taste. Let the children collect nature’s manipulatives (ex. sticks, grass, rocks, seeds, dirt, leaves, etc.) and use the Sensory Table to examine and share their research findings, with their fellow scientists. Endless options for manipulatives can be provided—beans, rice, birdseed, sand, cornmeal, water, snow, etc. Use the two bin design, to place different materials in each bin and watch the children investigate and compare physical properties.
