Flower Gardens

Having a flower garden will brighten up your play space and give something for the children to gather around.  The Adventurous Child’s Mini Gardens are great for this.  Choose a type of flower to go in each garden (they come in a set of 3.)  For example, you could choose Pansies, Petunias, and Marigolds.  (Places like Lowe’s and Home Depot usually have flowers that have started to bud and are ready to plant.)

Each child can choose which flower that he or she thinks is the prettiest and plant their seed in a Styrofoam cup;  help the children to water them accordingly.  Watch their amazement unfold as their tiny seeds bloom into the flower of their choice!

Children can cut the flowers and arrange in vases to decorate the classroom or create bouquets to take home to mom.

We strive to create fun and informative content that will help young children learn and grow. However, it's important to keep in mind that all activities should be performed under the supervision of an adult. The Adventurous Child website is intended to serve as a reference and guidance for educational activities, and it is ultimately the responsibility of the parent, guardian, and/or educator to determine the appropriateness of the activity for their child’s age and maturity level. Thank you for your understanding and support!
