Music on the Preschool Playground

Back to our spotlight series on different types of playground equipment.  This week I’d like to discuss music on the preschool playground.  Musical instruments are an exciting addition for any preschool playground.  On the practical side of things, adding musical instruments outside makes sense because, as we all know, children like to play LOUD.  Why not bring that loudness outdoors?

Adding music outdoors helps children learn about concepts such as loud and soft, high and low, fast and slow, hard and soft, beats, patterns, rhythm, melody, pitch, and so much more.  Our Chimes, Xylophone, and Drums provide young children with an opportunity to really explore music and as we know…

“Music gives a soul to the universe,
wings to the mind,
flight to the imagination,
and life to everything.”

We strive to create fun and informative content that will help young children learn and grow. However, it's important to keep in mind that all activities should be performed under the supervision of an adult. The Adventurous Child website is intended to serve as a reference and guidance for educational activities, and it is ultimately the responsibility of the parent, guardian, and/or educator to determine the appropriateness of the activity for their child’s age and maturity level. Thank you for your understanding and support!
