Happy First Day of Spring!

Tomorrow is the first day of spring! Here at The Adventurous Child we are very excited to welcome in the warm weather.  One of our favorite things to do in the spring is to plant a garden.  Gardening is one of those activities with unlimited learning opportunities for young children.  Science (life cycles, observation, hypothesizing, biology), math (measuring plants, measuring amounts of soil and water), literacy (labeling plants, naming plants), social emotional (providing care, working with others), healthy lifestyles (growing vegetables), the list goes on and on.

Because gardening encompasses so much learning, we have designed a variety of gardening products for the outdoor preschool playground.  Our newest garden is the Garden Box.  Available in either cedar or pressure treated wood for your natural playground  or in maintenance-free plastic, this is a classic garden box that will help protect your plants from run-away balls and feet.

We strive to create fun and informative content that will help young children learn and grow. However, it's important to keep in mind that all activities should be performed under the supervision of an adult. The Adventurous Child website is intended to serve as a reference and guidance for educational activities, and it is ultimately the responsibility of the parent, guardian, and/or educator to determine the appropriateness of the activity for their child’s age and maturity level. Thank you for your understanding and support!
