Build-A-Creek, Part 1

One of our newest products, the Build-A-Creek is a kit that comes with all the materials you need to make your own creek for your natural playscape.   In addition to all materials, we supply directions describing how the children can be the ones who actually build the creek.

Having a creek on the preschool playground provides many learning opportunities, but think of all the learning taking place when the children build their own creek, from start to finish.  The children start by scooping and packing down sand and then experimenting with the location and shape of the water channel.  Next, children think of where to place the large, medium, and small rocks.  Once the channel  is shaped and all the rocks are in place, add a garden hose and the children can explore – digging, pouring, sifting, sorting, and rearranging with their own creek.

We strive to create fun and informative content that will help young children learn and grow. However, it's important to keep in mind that all activities should be performed under the supervision of an adult. The Adventurous Child website is intended to serve as a reference and guidance for educational activities, and it is ultimately the responsibility of the parent, guardian, and/or educator to determine the appropriateness of the activity for their child’s age and maturity level. Thank you for your understanding and support!
